You need to enter the following information in order for the system to run identity verification:
- Full name, including any middle names or middle initials;
- Date of birth;
- Residential address;
- The details of your ID document(s). At this stage, you can use either AU Driver's licence or an AU passport for this section. Other types of ID, including international ones, can not be accepted.
All the information must be entered the same way as it appears on the ID document.
There are two common reasons for your identity could not be verified:
- The discrepancy between the entered information and the same from your ID.
- There is no match of the entered information with the databases like Equifax Consumer Credit Data, Electoral Roll, GovID and others. If you recently relocated, there is a chance that some databases may not yet be updated with the new address, so you can try using the previous one.
The most typical reasons for the information discrepancies:
- Shortened first name (Sam instead of Samantha);
- Missed middle name or middle initial;
- Incomplete address (missed unit number or suburb);
- Incorrect Driver's licence card number entered. This is a relatively new requirement, and some people are unaware of where such a number is on their IDs. If you are one of them, keep reading this article, we have got this covered!
